| FLIGHT. |
| We organised flights all the year around, on reservation
and according to the weather conditions. During the pick season, there
are 2 flights per day; only one the rest of the year. Each flight
takes approximately 60 minutes. |
TAKE-OFF. |
| MONGOLFIERE DU PERIGORD proposes tourist hot-air balloon
flights over the Périgord Noir. Take-off is form our private
field (registered take-off site) along the Dordogne river. Flights
are organised on reservation only, everyday of the year. After landing
and once equipment is packed, passengers are drove back to the meeting
point (take-off site). |
TIMETABLE. |
| Taking-off timevaries according to the sunset and sunrise
time. This is due to safety reasons as hot-air balloon flights requires
stable temperature conditions; usually flight takes place two hours
after sunrise and two hours before sunset. |
CAPACITY. |
| 2 to 16 passengers can take place onboard the balloon.
For each flight, according to the number of passengers and the total
weight, the appropriate balloon is selected within our equipment (MONTGOLFIERE
DU PERIGORD has few balloons, each with different capacity). |
DURATION. |
| Flight lasts approximately 60 minutes, however 2 /
3 hours should be allocated for the overall journey (setting-up of
the equipment before take-off, flight, landing, packing and driving
back to the meeting point). As a balloon follows the wind direction,
the trajectory is not controlled by the pilot. Only take-off and landing
site is the pilot's decision. Once the flight is over, our staff will
drive everybody back to the take-off site. We will take care of you
from take-off till landing and return to La Roque Gageac. Moreover,
once landed, complementary snack is offered together with your ascencion
certificate. |
WHAT TO WEAR. |
| You won't be cold during the flight so no special clothes
is needed. However, after-flight times can be nippy and jumper will
be appreciated. Pratical pair of shoes (flat or sport shoes) as well
as trousers is recommended for ladies. During the flight, hat/cap
will be also appreciated to protect your head from the heat of the
burners. |
INSURANCE. |
| Each passenger is insured according to standard liability
of civil aeronautics. People are fully covered according to the Varsow's
Convention of air transport. Carry-on objects and valuable are neither
covered by our insurance company nor by MONTGOLFIERE DU PERIGORD. |
